White House, Free Range Eggs, Maesbury Marsh - Montgomery Canal

One of the small pleasures of boating on the canals is being able to buy fresh seasonal produce right along side your overnight moorings. One such place is the White House, at the towpath moorings between bridges 78 (Maesbury Marsh Bridge) and 79 (Park Mill Bridge) at Maesbury Marsh near Oswestry, Shropshire on the Montgomery Canal. Where you can buy as laid, fresh free range hens eggs.

Seeing the hens out with the sun on their backs, scratching for their food, is just great - watching the cockerel checking on his flock and the hens having a sociable wander around an orchard or corner of a field.

The Free Range Eggs at White House, Maesbury Marsh are for sale on an honesty box basis - We suggest you get there early as we bought the last half dozen at 10.30 in the morning.

The flavour of these free range eggs is fantastic.

Tip: Take coins of the realm to pay as there may not be any change in the honesty box!
