Family fun on and off the water is promised as the popular Riverside Festival returns to Bede Park.

Kick-start the summer with two days of free family fun at Riverside Festival, sponsored by local housing provider Riverside. With over 60 activities and performances along the city’s riverside over two days there really is something for everyone. The festival takes place on Western Boulevard, Bede Park and along the waterside area. The fun starts each day at 12 noon.

As well as the popular decorated boat parade on Saturday there is a puppet play, circus skills workshop, vintage vehicles and a sensory art experience for babies and toddlers.

Other highlights include great bands on stage, mini cinema, children’s funfair, mobile zoo and the popular Inland Waterways Association boat rally.

Visit the arts street market featuring work from local artists, climb aboard the 'Whispers' rickshaw to experience a unique storytelling journey and enjoy music on the river as a traditional jazz band accompanies the parade of boats.

Plus new for 2010: Dusk 2 Dawn presents Leicester Riverside Fringe Festival at Braunstone Gate venues from 4th - 6th June.

Other family entertainment includes a Viking re-enactment group, falconry display, mobile zoo and sporting activities. Plus prepare for some jaw-dropping stunt riding from the Inertia BMX Demonstration Team and much more!
