on right-hand side of large cinema car park - This year’s route is
a circular one of approx 7 miles taking in a section of the River Great Ouse
from Bedford to Kempston Mill that will form part of the waterway. For those
who missed ‘The Boards Walk’ on 6 February
it will be an opportunity to look at the 3 interpretation boards sited in the
centre of Bedford. The walk will return to Aspects Cinema. Bring a packed lunch

Crick Boat Show will take place on the Grand Union Canal at the picturesque Crick
Marina in Northamptonshire, over the May Bank Holiday weekend, 29 to 31 May 2010.

Fun - On and Off the Water! - Leicester Riverside Festival -
Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th June -
Bede Park, Mile Straight & Western Boulevard
Family fun on and off the water is promised as the popular Riverside Festival
returns to Bede Park.
Kick-start the summer with two days of free family fun at Riverside Festival,
sponsored by local housing provider Riverside.
With over 60 activities and performances along the city’s riverside over
two days there really is something for everyone. The festival takes place on
Western Boulevard, Bede Park and along the
waterside area. The fun starts each day at 12 noon.
As well as the popular decorated boat parade on Saturday there is a puppet play,
circus skills workshop, vintage vehicles and a sensory art experience for babies
and toddlers.
Other highlights include great bands on stage, mini cinema, children’s
funfair, mobile zoo and the popular Inland Waterways Association boat rally.
Visit
the arts street market featuring work from local artists, climb aboard the 'Whispers'
rickshaw to experience a unique storytelling journey and enjoy music on the river
as a traditional jazz band accompanies the parade of boats.
Plus new for 2010: Dusk 2 Dawn presents Leicester Riverside Fringe Festival
at Braunstone Gate venues from 4th - 6th June.
Other family entertainment includes a
Viking re-enactment group, falconry display, mobile zoo and sporting activities.
Plus prepare for some jaw-dropping stunt riding from the Inertia BMX Demonstration

The
Kirkintilloch Canal Festival - Preparations for the 2010 Festival
are already well underway; scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 28th August
and Sunday 29th August, the event will build on the success of previous years,
providing a full weekend of events for all ages and interests, based around the
Forth and Clyde Canal in Kirkintilloch Town Centre.
Kidderminster
Canal Festival 19th - 21st August 2010, from 09.00 to 18.00
each day - This summer Kidderminster town centre will be hosting its first ever
canal festival!
As part of the town's ReWyre Regeneration Initiative the District Council, in
partnership with Weavers Wharf shopping centre and British Waterways, are organising
a canal festival to celebrate this important feature of the town. A range of
attractions will be centred around the canal at Weavers Wharf and beyond to celebrate
the town’s canal and help to bring it to life. Come join the fun at the
canal side in Kidderminster town centre.
Over the weekend of Aug 20th - 22nd there will be a charity event at The Folly,
Napton-on-the-Hill, on the Oxford Canal and at around 7:00pm on the Saturday
evening Life & Times will be performing some of the songs from the show.
