The Waterway Advisory Group (2009/10 Wales)

A new group formed to shape the future of waterways in Wales.

The Newly Formed Waterway Advisory Group comprises:

Wyn Mitchell - Wyn Mitchell, a Chartered Town Planner and Chartered Building Engineer with over 30 years experience in Local Government in Wales. He is Planning Services Manager at Newport City Council.

Derek Webster - Derek Webster has 40 years security and investigation experience with the Metropolitan Police, Government and private sector. He enjoyed a short spell running a family business in the licensed trade in Essex and Buckinghamshire.

Dr David Parker - Dr David Parker has worked for the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) for eleven years. CCW is a Welsh Assembly Government sponsored organisation whose statutory role is the stewardship of the wildlife and landscapes of Wales.

David Collins - For the last fifteen years David Collins has been the Secretary General of the Football Association of Wales Ltd. His main responsibilities have included ensuring successful operation and development of the FAW.

Ted Sangster - Ted Sangster is Chief Executive of Milford Haven Port Authority. The sixth largest UK port operates a ferry terminal, docks, marina and dry dock, along with fuel refineries, tank storage and terminals.

John Bridgeman - John Bridgeman is a former director general of Fair Trading and Monopolies & Mergers Commission member. He was previously chief executive of British Alcan Aluminium plc. He is Visiting Professor in Management at the Universities of Keele and Surrey and an independent consultant in corporate strategy, competition policy and consumer affairs.
