C&RT says - Will you help us to protect one of Britain’s most endangered animals – The Water Vole?

Sadly, once the most common of British mammals, their numbers have now plummeted by 90%. They are Britain’s fastest declining mammal and are at serious risk of extinction. Please donate to our water vole appeal today and help us stop the disappearance of these beloved animals — before it's too late.

Vole

70% don’t survive the winter and those that do have found their wetland habitat have been decimated by the onset of modern life. Adding to their decline, the American mink grew into voracious predators of water voles after they became naturalised in Britain through escapes from fur-farms since 1930.

But you can help - water voles will survive and thrive in the right environment – in slow-moving waters amongst plenty of lush vegetation near the water's edge for them to tuck into and take cover in when predators threaten. The slow moving waters of our waterways provide some of the last habitats and strongholds of these endangered mammals.

Our specialist environment teams are working to secure a future for these beautiful creatures but we need your support to keep this work going. Please donate to our water vole appeal today and help us stop the disappearance of these beloved animals — before it's too late.

Thank you again for your support.

Best wishes,
