Tideway Adventurers Narrowboat Project

Tideway Adventurers Narrowboat Project is based in Uxbridge on the Grand Union Canal. It operates a 70ft boat called "Theo" which including skipper sleeps thirteen.
The project carries approximately 300 people per year from across London and elsewhere from a wide range of different organisations and cultures. Young people are encouraged to undertake the Complete Crew Course accredited by the National Community Boats Association and the Open College Network. We are also a training centre for the Certificate in Community Boat Management also accredited by the NCBA and OCN. This qualification is particularly aimed at teachers and youth workers wishing to take young people afloat. In 2006/07 we trained and assessed 18 adults for this qualification.
Over the years we've had good support from various trusts and have just been awarded £39,700 from the Youth Opportunity Fund to purchase a second boat. This will be based at Bradford On Avon on the Kennet On Avon Canal which will give us two distinct geographical areas to draw users from."Youth Afloat" our own youth section is represented on the management committee and plays a key part in the planning and operation of the project.
Tideway Adventurers Narrow boat project are looking to buy an ex-hire/community boat (70foot) at approximately £30-£35,000 in price as soon as possible.
