Designer Divas Exhibition Now On at The Falkirk Wheel

The Falkirk Wheel is now hosting a unique exhibition entitled ‘Designer Divas’, until 23 March 2008. This colourful celebration of celebrity style brings a touch of glitz and glamour to the spectacular Falkirk Wheel.

This event has been organised by new Scottish company Cult Heroes. Showcasing outfits and accessories from today’s top female icons from the world of film, music and fashion, the exhibition includes original costumes from film sets, fashion shoots, premieres and stage performances.

It is the first time costumes which have adorned some of the biggest stars in show business, like Madonna, Pink, Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Courteney Cox, Sandra Bullock, Carmen Electra and Beyonce, have been displayed side by side.

Steve Dunlop, Director, British Waterways Scotland said: “This is a very eye-catching and glamorous event. We are pleased that Cult Heroes decided to use The Falkirk Wheel as a venue to showcase these wonderfully unique pieces. Visitors to The Falkirk Wheel will not only enjoy an exceptional Scottish landmark, they will also experience some Hollywood glamour.”

The costume display is accompanied by mini biographies of each of the stars featured, with information on style influences, design and production, anecdotes and quotes. Famous design houses are also represented at the exhibition, as well as custom made costumes from Oscar winning and nominated designers.

The event is free to the public and unlike many other exhibitions of this type, photography and filming of the exhibition is welcomed, so visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras.

Opening hours are:

18 February – 20 March
Monday – Friday, 10.00 am – 4.30 pm
Saturday – Sunday, 10.00 am – 6.00 pm

21 – 23 March
