IWA campaigns for the conservation, use, maintenance, restoration and development of the Inland Waterways.

IWA National Chairman John Fletcher will give a presentation entitled “Restoration in the North West – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”

Tim Boddington takes us along the Macclesfield Canal with pictures old and older! Bet he tells us something we didn't know about this local canal!

Friday 12th December 2008, 7.45pm for 8pm
Come and try your hand at some Canal Crafts. An evening where members display their skills and tempt guests “to have a go”

Richard Longton, British Waterways’s project manager, enlightens us on The Liverpool Link, Britain’s first new canal for more than a century.

Friday 13th March 2009, 7.45pm for 8pm - AGM
This will be followed by IWA Stoke-on-Trent branch Annual General Meeting.

Friday 3rd April 2009, 7.45pm for 8pm (THIS IS THE FIRST FRIDAY IN THE MONTH) - Waterways photographer, writer and website encyclopedia creator Jim Shead, will show us around the delights of the Thames Ring. “Canals broad and narrow, the river tidal and non-tidal, three navigation authorities, seven counties, two long tunnels, 248 miles, 175 locks and a bit of history.”
