Norbury Junction is in Staffordshire on the Shropshire Union Canal section of the 'Four Counties Ring' and is the old junction with the now derelict Newport Branch, that used to connect the Trench and Shrewsbury Canals to the main Shropshire Union Canal system close to Norbury Bridge (#38). MAP

Norbury Wharf is home to The British Waterways (BW) Norbury Yard and boaters facilities, Norbury Wharf Limited offering: narrowboat day boats, short breaks and weekly hire, motor home hire and Wharf Cottage (Self catering holiday cottage at Norbury Junction), long and short term private moorings, as well as boat brokerage, pump out, slipway and wet dock. Adjoining these facilities is the 'Old Wharf Tearoom' offering light snacks and refreshments either inside or canalside.

On the S, N and T Branch old arm the top lock is now used as a dock with moorings, with the adjacent public house 'The Junction Inn' offering canalside views.

Norbury Marina provides linear moorings stretching for almost half a mile opposite the towpath.

If you would like to take one of the day boats from Norbury Wharf you will receive detailed tuition to novices. The boats are fully kitted out with fuel, hob, toilet, hot and cold water. Available from 09.00 to 16.30 daily (an extra hour can be booked in advance - NOT on the day). Life jackets available on request.
