Harleyford Estate’s Second Marina Underway
The construction of a second marina at the iconic Harleyford Estate in Buckinghamshire is now well underway. The new facility will be right next door to the existing marina basin and is set to be nearly 3 times as large providing an additional 148 berths to this stunning location along the Thames.
Works were begun onsite by principal contractor Greenford Ltd in August 2016 and are scheduled for completion April 2017 when the new marina will be open for business. The new basin, when completed, will be connected to the existing marina via a 14m wide entrance channel.
The marina was established in 1950 and is owned and managed by the Harleyford Estate. The Estate have always taken exceptional care to develop the marina without compromising the natural beauty of the surrounding area and ensuring the facilities and service provided are second to none, having received the 5 Gold Anchor award since 1986. Regarding the development of the second marina, Marina General Manager Mark Pearce said “we are looking forward to offering our clients the best moorings available on the Thames in an idyllic location. Harleyford had the first gravel pit to be used as a marina back in the late 1960’s and it’s very pleasing to see this new development come to fruition.”
The current marina offers boat sales, chandlery and maintenance, boat lift/craneage, electricity and water access, a hard standing boat area, pump out and waste disposal, modern shower and laundry facilities, an incredible seasonal floating restaurant, along with an 18 hole championship golf club. The construction of the new marina will also include new access roads, electrical service bollards, pontoons, parking facilities as well as soft landscaping and general site reinstatement to ensure a seamless insertion into the existing rural setting.
Harleyford Marina is part of the picturesque Harleyford Estate and is located on the Thames between Temple and Hurley Lock. For information regarding the existing marina and booking enquiries see the Harleyford Estate website –
