CHESHIRE'S 'CATHEDRAL OF THE CANALS', THE ANDERTON BOAT LIFT’S ANNUAL BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL IS BACK WITH A BANG FROM 27th-29th MAY

BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL

Fans of real ale and cider will be in for a treat at the Anderton Boat Lift’s annual Beer & Cider Festival, being held this year from Friday 27th May – Sunday 29th May. Located on the Trent & Mersey Canal and the River Weaver, the lift is the world's first successful boat lift and an acknowledged masterpiece of industrial engineering. The Festival will feature a selection of twelve of the country’s traditional top ales and ciders, visitors to the iconic Lift in Anderton near Northwich, Cheshire, will also be treated to a series of live musical acts each evening. Open from 6.30pm – 11.30pm each night, freshly-sourced food will be available from the Lift’s tree-top Coffee Shop. Tickets can be pre-ordered for £5 by calling 01606 786 777 (£7.50 on the night) and beer tokens are £2 each or ten for £15.00.

Some of the beers and ales featured at this year’s festival are Green Duck Brewing Company’s ‘Duck & Dive’; Brightside Brewery’s ‘Manchester Skyline’ and local brewery, Sandiway Ales’ ‘Hop Secret’.

Graham Woods, Events Manager, Anderton Boat Lift, said:
“Top local acts during the Festival, including Platform 7, a Crewe-based seven-piece band, who will be performing on Saturday night and on Sunday, singing virtuoso, Helen Yardley, from the Wirral, whose repertoire ranges across the best songs of the past decades.”

Known as one of the 'Seven Wonders of the Waterways', the Anderton Boat Lift is a fascinating combination of working historic structure and fun, educational experience.
