NB "Touchwood" BW 61042 - Historic NarrowboatsWe saw Narrowboat Touchwood on 16 November 2009 at Norbury Junction on the Shropshire Union Canal and she was in a reasonable state of repair.

In November 2010 Andrew Perry updated us with the following:

"I owned Touchwood between 1981 to 2000 I bought her as a bare hull but she had a been motorised in a crude way, I installed a Ford D series engine on a jury rig and sailed her from Watford to Worsley via the Thames. During my ownership I had the cabin fitted, most of the bottom replaced; new swim and rudder, and latterly I fitted a Gardener 4lk engine with Parsons gearbox.

From memory Touchwood, BCN no 19258, was built in 1877 for S L Williams of Woodsetton was later owned by Harts Hill Iron Co then Stewarts & Lloyds fleet no 116."
