NB "Prince" G.U. 12313 - Historic Narrowboats

Narrowboat Prince was the powered narrowboat to the now defunct butty 'Princess'

Historic Narrowboat Prince - G.U. 12313 - Rickmansworth No.23

Historic Narrowboat Prince - G.U. 12313 - Rickmansworth No.23A working "Royal" narrowboat owned and operated by Paul M Edwards, BSS Examiner. Regularly moored on the long term moorings opposite Wheaton Aston Wharf on the Shropshire Union Canal.

Paul told me that Prince was built in 1931 by Pollacks of Favisham, launched in August recovered from Gas Street Basin as a hulk and restored. Powered by a JP3 that replaced a 20hp Bollinger with reverse gear.

Narrowboat Prince appears in good order, the paintwork is being refreshed in its original green and light green livery.

A nice boat to see.

If you have any more information about this boat, please let us know HERE.

For instance - it is believed that this narrowboat was used as a floating anti-aircraft battery in London during the Second World War????????????
