BOAT WALK THROUGH
Rivendell is a cosy contemporary euro-crusier style widebeam. With a 65hp engine, and a 6.5kw generators in the engine room you'll have power for all onboard appliances, wherever and whenever you need it. The 180degrees hydraulic wheel and powerful bowthurster ensures maximum steering and manouverability at all times. With this high spec power and steering combination, Rivendell gives you confident and comfortable cruising with constant power.
The wrap around stern seating, cushions and pram hood cover allow for year round alfesco dining and enjoyment for all on board.
The large 9ft by 11ft leisure deck at the stern, covered by a stylish pram hood, is the perfect place for all aboard to socialise in the evening, and with all that room (fully protected from the elements if needs be), ensures that no one need be left alone to pilot the boat, as there is always room for plenty of company.
The collapsible pram hood means that in the Summer you can enjoy the last of Sun on those warm evenings, and on the colder evenings during the rest of the year, you can zip up the hood and, protected from the elements, and still enjoy the extra room the hood gives you.
Entering the boat from the double sapele stern doors, and you'll find yourself in a stylish and modern kitchen. The beautiful cream finish, solid oak worktops, the smooth curves, and the ample storage, gives the kitchen a contemporary and polished feel; and with almost all the appliances you'd expect, you'll feel right at home.
As you enter Rivendell from the stern, you'll see past the kitchen, into the lounge area. With satellite TV and a large, comfortable leather sofa you'll want to settle in immediately to enjoy your stay.
Rivendell couldn't be completed without its own Hobbit, and so the main feature of the galley is The Hobbit wood-burning stove, with its brick effect surround, log store and wall lighting, to give a cosy and comfortable evening inside.
Walking down the port passageway, the first door to starboard will take you into a modern and fully fitted bathroom.
A corner bath, with mixer shower, is the first thing you'll notice. Towards the stern, the stylish stainless steel twin-wall flue from The Hobbit runs up from the bathroom surface to the ceiling, helping keep the room toasty warm and comfortable when the stove is on.
Walk further down the port passageway to the second door and you'll enter the second bedroom. This room can sleep up to 3 and has loads of storage to help keep the boat clear of holiday clutter.
The final passageway door, towards the bow, opens up into the master bedroom.
A luxurious double bed with further storage beneath finalises the comfort of Rivendell, giving you everything you might want to finish your day. Plenty of cupboard storage means you have plenty of room to hang and store your clothing.
With windows to port and aft and a double door opening to the bow, waking up on board can be one filled with beautiful morning sunlight.
The bow double sapele doors from the master bedroom, open onto a small and quaint bow.
The prow of Rivendell rises much higher than a standard canal boat, so whilst you can still ride the front of the boat, you can also sit and enjoy a bit of privacy, from the rest of the boat and the surroundings.
Rivendell's home is on the Kennet and Avon canal in Bathampton.
The mooring has beautiful views of the surrounding Avon valley, with Bathford to the East, and Claverton Down to the South West.
Breaks in the trees (not enjoyed by all the moorings on this stretch of canal) mean Rivendell catches the first and last rays of the Sun on most evenings through the year.
The canal is peaceful and secluded, and with The George Inn a short 5min walk, or The Bathampton Mill only 10min away, you won't want for somewhere to go for the comfort of a local where you can enjoy a friendly drink and bit to eat.
Bathampton is a beautiful old small village built mostly of Bath stone, near the historic city of Bath, which is only a couple of miles West; about a hour or so along the canal, either by boat or foot. With its famous Roman Baths and stunning architecture, it's a wonderful place to keep on visiting year after year.
Travel along the canal and the 6 Bath locks, and you're on the river Avon, which is a lovely wide waterway, giving you plenty of room to pilot Rivendell, and a beautiful river ride experience.
