The Drawbridge, Drawbridge Road, Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands B90 1DD - MAP - The Drawbridge Pub is part of the Punch Taverns "Flaming Grill" chain.

Located alongside the canal drawbridge in Shirley, on the outskirts of Solihull, you will find The Drawbridge Pub.

There are visitor moorings either side of the electric powered lift bridge. Just the place to try if you are looking for an excuse not to cook!

One of the attractions is to sit at the pub window to watch the canal traffic as the bridge goes up and down to it let boats through.

The modern style pub was built in the 1970s and has been added to and improved over the years.

The clientele when we visited included many women and covered the complete age spectrum.

This is very much a food orientated pub with a very popular main menu and specials board to choose from. Your meal can be eaten anywhere in the pub or outside in the garden. The atmosphere is very friendly, comfortable and trouble free.

Live Entertainment. Usually on a Saturday.

Draught Beers: Carling Extra Cold, Fosters Super-chilled, Guinness Extra Cold, John Smiths Smooth, Kronenbourg, Stella Artois, Strongbow Cider. Real Ales: Marstons EPA, Wells Bombardier and regularly changing Guest ales. The Drawbridge had a CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2008 entry.

Range of Wines, Tea & Coffee.

Food: Good Pub Food served from the "Flaming Grill" menu. A great range of sizzling griddle pan pub dishes. THe menu offers regular pub favourites and Sunday roast, plus the midweek Fajita, Steak and Burger nights. Meals served daily 12.00 - 22.00.

Additional facilities: Free Wi-Fi access, patio area with heating and lighting overlooking the canal, wheelchair access, disabled toilet, baby changing facility and an outdoor smoking shelter with heating & lighting.

Open: Monday to Thursday 11.00 to 23.00, Friday & Saturday 12.00 to 23.59 and Sunday 12.00 to 22.00.

Children welcome until 21.00. Dogs welcome outside on a lead. Very large car park with security cameras, ATM machine, Debit & Credit Cards accepted.
