The Dusty Miller, Wrenbury - Main BarThe Dusty Miller, Wrenbury is a popular traditional country pub and restaurant right on the Llangollen Canal tow path in the rural village of Wrenbury, Cheshire. Well known locally for its canal side location, with large arched windows providing a great situation to watch the passing canal boats as they pass through the boater operated electrically controlled 'Telford' lift bridge (#20).

The Dusty Miller, Wrenbury - Corner Seating by Canal-view windowWe visited The Dusty Miller 'GastroPub', Wrenbury for a weekday lunch in February as part of our winter cruise 2011/2012 and found that the pub-restaurant offers a fairly relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The Dusty Miller, Wrenbury - Breakfast salad of rosti potato, black pudding, bacon, poached hen's egg and peppercorn sauce - Yummy! With around half a dozen starters to choose from, ten or more main courses, side orders and a good selection of desserts, plus children's menu, there is plenty to go at!

Expect to spend around £20 per head for lunch consisting of a starter + main and drink / main + dessert, or £10 for a lunch (only) sandwich served with a salad garnish and drink.

The Dusty Miller, Wrenbury - Beer battered haddock, hand cut chips and dressed saladThe food that was served to us was excellent! Sourced from local suppliers where possible, many located within the surrounding villages.

The building is a period (restored) mill building dating back to the mid eighteenth century as a corn mill, converted in the mid 1970's with many of the original features retained. In 2011 The Dusty Miller underwent a refurbishment.

A good selection of beers, wine and spirits or a hot drink selection available.

The Dusty Miller, Wrenbury - Main dining areaThe Dusty Miller stands out as one of the nicest pubs in Cheshire. With disabled toilets and full disabled access, baby changing facilities and relaxing places to sit, including a canal-side beer garden and sun terrace that looks out on landscaped gardens that catch the sun all day.

The Dusty Miller, Wrenbury - Beer GardenFast Free Wifi - Whether you are at the Dusty Miller for business or pleasure, Wifi is available throughout the pub for your laptops or mobile.

The Dusty Miller by Robert Burns
(Standard English Translation)

The Dusty Miller, Cholmondeley Road, Wrenbury - Canalside viewHey the dusty miller
And his dusty coat!
He will spend a shilling
Ere he win a groat.
Dusty was the coat,
Dusty was the colour,
Dusty was the kiss
That I got from the miller!

Hey the dusty miller
And his dusty sack!
Dear is to me on the calling
Fills the dusty peck!
Fills the dusty peck,
Brings the dusty money!
I would give my coat
For the dusty miller!
