We visited The Siracusa Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria on Saturday 15 May 2010

The restaurant had been open just 6 weeks under the new management of partners Ibrahim Unsal and Serap Schulze - seen here behind Jean Beven on the occasion of her annual birthday!

The Siracusa Italian Restaurant is open from 11.30 - 'till late; when the last diner leaves!

The well staffed, fully licensed, restaurant has 60 covers inside and 25 covers outside.

The menu has:

Over 20 antipasti / starter choices - from Bruschetta Traditionale (toasted Italian bread topped with fresh chopped tomatoes, garlic and basil) to Salami Italiani Misti (Parma ham, mortadella, Milano salami and bresaola).

Over 20 genuine Italian pasta and arboreal rice dishes including great favourites like Spaghetti alla Bolognese and vegetarian options.

Around 25 varieties of baked to order pizzas, from the simple Margherita of Mozzarella cheese and tomato to the delicious Quattro Stagioni (four seasons) and the unusual rolled pizza - Pizza Calzone.

The standard main dishes number around 10 choices of carne e pesce (meat and fish) with a choice of traditional Italian vegetables, salads.

We chose a pizza with side salad each as the restaurant has a traditional shaped open hearth pizza oven. The food was ample and absolutely delicious, cooked by an authentic Italian pizza chef.

Everything on the menu is available as a take away.
