Anglo Welsh - Waterways Holidays
We would all like to discover a holiday with peace, tranquility, countryside and camaraderie. Well you can, on a narrowboat holiday, and we have seen many a merry holiday maker cruising by (a little too fast sometimes) on an Anglo Welsh narrowboat.
The ones we have spoken to seem pleased with the Anglo Welsh boat they have hired, for cleanliness and general condition.
We have found that the company has 9 hire centres in prime locations from Bath and Monkton Combe on the Kennet and Avon Canal to Bunbury in the north, close to Chester, on the Shropshire Union Canal. With Trevor on the Llangollen Canal, Norbury on the Shropshire Union, Great Haywood at the junction of the Staffs and Worcester and Trent & Mersey Canals, Tardebigge on the Worcs & Birmingham, Wooton Wawen on the Stratford and Oxford on the River Thames.

Anglo Welsh cruises have years of experience hiring narrowboats (mostly to
complete novices) and will give recommended routes, circuits and 'rings' information
to each crew. Our personal recommendation to any hirer is to cruise out for half
of the holiday at a speed and daily hours allotment that your health and stamina
will allow, turn around, and cruise back! That way you know for sure you will
get your boat back to Anglo Welsh on time.
The company use a price 'banding' grid for Weekly breaks 1 - 14 and Short Breaks A - N, all year round. 1 & A is a small, 2 berth, narrowboat; priced at just under £500 to just under £800 per week depending on the season. 14 & N is a long, (up to) 12 berth, narrowboat with for between just over £900 to just over £1300 per week. That includes free car parking, linen, fuel and water but a 'Damage Waiver' is not.
Anglo Welsh also operate 'Day Boats' from six of their bases.
