TV presenter Miranda Krestovnikoff Appointed Vice President of The Waterways Trust

The Waterways Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of natural history expert and television presenter, Miranda Krestovnikoff as Vice President of the charity.

TV presenter Miranda Krestovnikoff Appointed Vice President of The Waterways TrustMiranda is a popular specialist presenter on BBC’s One Show and Coast, and has appeared as guest presenter on Countryfile. Fascinated with aquatic life, Miranda has also worked on a number of associated television programmes including Wreck Detectives and Water Warriors. In addition to her television work, Miranda has presented the Breakfast programme on BBC Radio 3, writes articles for Diver magazine and plays in the New Bristol Sinfonia orchestra.

Speaking of her appointment as newest Vice President, Miranda said: “I am thrilled to become a Vice President of The Waterways Trust. I’m passionate about the British countryside. To have an amazing experience, people think you’ve got to go somewhere wild and remote – they forget the diversity of wildlife we have on our doorstep. Our inland waterways are a perfect example, regardless of the time of year there is always a wealth of wildlife waiting to be discovered. One thing I never forget however is not to take these precious habitats for granted. The Waterways Trust is working hard to improve our canals and rivers for people and wildlife and I am delighted to be able to support them in their work.”

Roger Hanbury, Chief Executive, The Waterways Trust said: “We are very excited to have Miranda on board as Vice President. Miranda has already supported our waterway birds appeal and I know that her involvement with the Trust will add great value to our work. Her energy and enthusiasm for the waterway environment will be greatly appreciated and we look forward to working with her.”

Miranda joins broadcaster John Craven, actors David Suchet and Timothy West, antiques expert Paul Atterbury and waterway icon Sonia Rolt as a Vice President of The Waterways Trust. HRH The Prince of Wales is Patron of The Waterways Trust.

The Waterways Trust is a national charity. Since 1999 the Trust has worked with its partners to enrich people’s lives through waterways. Its vision is to see the UK waterway network supported, valued and enjoyed by everyone. The Trust identifies need, builds partnerships, raises funds and delivers projects focused on delivering benefits for people in five core areas: environment & heritage, improved health, stronger communities, improved learning and regeneration.
