Liverpool Boat Show DatesThe boat show will take place over 10 days from April 29 to May 8 2011 in the magnificent surroundings of the Albert, Salthouse and Canning Docks – the largest collection of Grade I listed buildings in Britain – and on one of the most architecturally stunning waterfronts in the world.

Exhibitors and enthusiasts from all over the world will descend on the waterfront to take part in a full programme of water-based entertainment and demonstrations, attracting thousands of visitors and injecting millions of pounds into the city’s economy.

Julie Sharman - Liverpool Boat Show DatesJulie Sharman, head of regeneration north for British Waterways said: “It’s exciting to see the new pontoons being installed in Albert and Salthouse docks, which will allow us to accommodate an array of different size boats creating a boat show unlike any other in this unique and historical setting.”

Rob Mackenzie, managing director of Marine Industry Events, which is organising the show, added: “The pontoons represent a real legacy investment, creating the infrastructure which will enable the Liverpool Boat Show to run for years to come.

“We expect some 400,000 people to visit the show, making it one of the biggest events of its kind in the world, and the pontoons will enable our paying visitors to get incredibly close to the vessels on display.”

The Liverpool Boat Show is being delivered by Marine Industry Events Ltd in partnership with Liverpool City Council, the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), Liverpool Vision, British Waterways, Albert Dock Liverpool, The Mersey Partnership, Gower Street Estates and the Liverpool Waterfront Partnership.

Liverpool Boat Show DatesBritish Waterways cares for the nation’s 200-year old network of canals, rivers and docks, which attract over 13 million people each year for walking, cycling, angling, boating or simply the peace and quiet. The Government has backed British Waterways’ plans in England and Wales for its canals and rivers to leave state control to become a ‘national trust’ for the waterways. This exciting new charity, which is targeted to be up and running by April 2012, will attract new investment and give local people a greater role in how their waterways are run. www.britishwaterways.co.uk
